The word Islam means 'submission to the will of God'. Muslims believe that there is only One God.The Arabic word for God is Allah.Muslims believe that Islam was revealed over 1400 years ago in Mecca, Arabia.
Christians believe that Jesus was the Messiah promised in the Old Testament.
Christians also believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.They believe that God sent his Son to earth to save humanity from the consequences of its sins.

According to Muslims, God sent a number of prophets to mankind to teach them how to live according to His law.Jesus(Isa), Moses(Musa) and Abraham(Ibrahim) are respected as prophets of God. They believe that the final Prophet was Muhammad (S.A.W).

One of the most important concepts in Christianity is that of Jesus giving his life on the Cross (the Crucifixion) and rising from the dead on the third day (the Resurrection).Christians believe that there is only one God, but that there are three elements to this one God:
God the Father
God the Son
The Holy Spirit

Muslims believe the Sunnah is the practical example of Prophet Muhammad and that there are five basic Pillars of Islam.
These pillars are the declaration of faith, praying five times a day, giving money to charity, fasting and a pilgrimage to Mecca (at least once).

The Christian holy book is the Bible, and consists of the Old and New Testaments.

Muslims believe the Quran was verbally revealed by God to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel (Jibril), gradually over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning on 22 December 609 CE, when Muhammad was 40, and concluding in 632, the year of his death. Muslims regard the Quran as the most important miracle of Muhammad, a proof of his prophet hood,and the culmination of a series of divine messages that started with the messages revealed to Adam and ended with Muhammad.

Christians believe that Jesus was far more than a political radical. For them the death of Jesus was part of a divine plan to save humanity.
The death and resurrection of this one man is at the very heart of the Christian faith. For Christians it is through Jesus's death that people's broken relationship with God is restored. This is known as the Atonement.

Muslims respect and venerate Jesus Christ (Isa). They consider him to be one of God's greatest messengers to humankind. The Qur'an re-affirms his miraculous birth and his miraculous abilities. Furthermore, his mother Mary is regarded as one of the most pure and exalted women of all creation.The Jews, who rejected Jesus as a prophet, called him an imposter, while the Christians, on the other hand, considered him to be the son of God and worship him as such. Islam considers Jesus to be one of the greatest and most forbearing of prophets, in addition to Noah, Abraham, Moses and Muhammad, peace be upon them. Jesus is also considered to be the Messiah as well.

Christmas is marked on the 25 December
Christmas is a Christian holy day that marks the birth of Jesus, the son of God.Christmas is not only a Christian festival. The celebration has roots in the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, the festivals of the ancient Greeks, the beliefs of the Druids and the folk customs of Europe.The English word "Christmas" derives from the old English Christes maesse, meaning "Christ's mass."

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, when Muslims fast during daylight hours. There are several reasons why Ramadan is considered important:
The Qur'an was first revealed during this month
The gates of Heaven are open
The gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained up in Hell.

Despite the objections of some church fathers, attempts to determine Jesus' date of birth began early. By the close of the second century, numerous dates had been advanced, including May 20, April 18, April 19, May 28, January 2, November 17, November 20, March 21 and March 25.But as early as 273 AD, Western Christians had decided on December 25 to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The December date for the holiday probably arose from a desire to provide an alternative to the Roman "birthday of the unconquered sun" and the Persian birthday of Mithras, both of which were celebrated on or around the winter solstice.

The first Eid was celebrated in 624 CE by the Prophet Muhammad with his friends and relatives after the victory of the battle of Jang -e-Badar.Muslims are not only celebrating the end of fasting, but thanking Allah for the help and strength that he gave them throughout the previous month to help them practice self-control.The festival begins when the first sight of the new moon is seen in the sky.Muslims in most countries rely on news of an official sighting, rather than looking at the sky themselves.

The main Christian view of war ethics is contained in the doctrine of the Just War.
The basic assumption of modern Christians is that war is rarely justified and should be avoided unless the Just War conditions are met.
An individual Christian may believe that the standard of evidence and argument required for them to support a war is higher than the standard of evidence that national leaders may require to go to war.

The literal meaning of Jihad is struggle or effort, and it means much more than holy war.
Muslims use the word Jihad to describe three different kinds of struggle:
A believer's internal struggle to live out the Muslim faith as well as possible,The struggle to build a good Muslim society,Holy war: the struggle to defend Islam, with force if necessary.The internal Jihad is the one that Prophet Muhammad is said to have called the greater Jihad.

The prayer as a whole tells us we stand in a very vulnerable place. We stand in the middle of a human world where God's will is not the most automatic thing that people do. Where crisis faces us, where uncertainty is all around about tomorrow and where evil is powerfully at work.To stand with dignity and freedom in a world like that, we need to know that God is Our Father. We need to know that whatever happens to us God is God, God's name and presence and power and word are holy and wonderful and that that glorious God has made us members of his family in a very intimate and direct way.

Muslims worship in a building called a mosque. An alternative word for mosque, from the original Arabic, is masjid, meaning place of prostration.
Outside every mosque, or just inside the entrance, is a place where worshippers can remove and leave their shoes. There is also a place where they can carry out the ritual washing required before prayer.

A single, all-powerful god known as God that is typically thought of in "trinity" form: God, the Father; Christ, the Son; and the Holy Spirit (or Ghost). Not all sects/denominations of Christianity believe in the Trinity.
