This crop was sold along the silk road and was in high demand.
The Islam people were one of the best at makeing silk and cotton cloths.

The majority of the people in Islam were farmers because of the landscape of the region.
The landscape in the region was ideal for farmers to grow silk and cotton.
The region was very humid and a little moist which is perfect for crops.
