  • Islam started in Saudi Arabia

Worship

  • Muslims worship at a place called a Mosque
  • Muslims Pray 5 times a day.
  • Mosque- A Muslim place for worship

Allah

  • Allah created all things
  • He also provides guidance to all people so they can live a good life

  • Jabal-Un-Nur means mountain of light
  • Muhammad warned people of evil
  • He also encouraged everyone to believe in Allah

  • Zakah is a act of Worship
  • People pay Zakah to gain Allah's favor

  • The Crescent Moon and Star means "In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassinate"

  • These are 2 major holy days both give thanks to Allah

Ramadan

  • Ramadan is a holy month of fasting. Fasting is one of the five principles of Islam. Each day during Ramadan, followers of Islam do not eat or drink from sunrise to sunset.

Dietary

  • Muslims can eat all vegetables, fruit, and grain, but for them to eat meat the blood of the animal has to be completely drained away

  • Muslims can't eat pork
  • If Muslims do it meat the animal cannot die of natural causes. The animal must die my a sharp knife

  • Muslims must pray to Allah 5 times a day

  • Sawm means fasting. It helps Muslims get self control and it helps them overcome greed, laziness, and self control

  • While praying to Allah you can make personal prayers. Muslims meditate on the gifts Allah has given them or they seek strength of Allah to become stronger
