Karana and her family live in a village on an island..
One day Karana and her brother were wondering around the island as a big red ship came to words them full of the Aleuts coming to hunt.
The new chief of the tribe was stuck on an island when he tried to find a safer place for the tribe to stay.
Karana and her brother went withkk other people to save the new chief.
When her brother gets left on the island Karan jumps out of the boat to save her brother.
They are both stranded on an island trying to survive.
When her brother gets killed by a pack of wild dogs Karana is determined to kill every dog however she keeps the pack leader as a pet and calls him Ronty.
In the end Ronty and Karana. Are saved and go back home.

Karana is very brave and heroic because she jumped off a boat to save her brother.
She is also very smart because she managed to figure out the Aleuts plan.
Karan is also strong because she managed to kill an entire pack of wild dogs.
She is also loving and kind because she spared the pack leader and kept him as a pet.
Karana is also resourceful because she managed to survive in an island all alone.

Karana's father is generous because he allowed the Aleuts to take some of the fish.
However he's also fair because he left some fish for his tribe.
He is also sneaky because he spied on the Aleuts.
He is very loyal to his tribe beacause he risked his own life to fight for the tribe's rights.

I learnt that no matter how alone you are you can always survive.
I also learned that you can fight for your right like how karana fighter for her rights when the dogs killed her brother.
I also learned that if you keep believing in hope you will be rescued just like how Karana never stopped believing and she was rescued from the island.
