Karanna was trying to get a canoe out to the shore, but she was not strong enough to put the canoe into the water. Then she finally got the canoe into the water. After she got the canoe into the water she found a cave. It was pitch black. After exploring the cave she found a giant devilfish witch carrys on to the next chapter !

Storms came early and while the raging winds roared i made a new dress. Most of the days i spent fashioning a spear to catch the devilfish. On the first day of spring I went down to coral cove with my new spear. I pushed the canoe into the water and drifted toward the reef where the devilfish lived. It was good to be on the sea after the winter storms,with the new spear in my hand,all the morning as i hunted the giant devilfish i kept thinking of Rontu. Would he come back, i wondered,or had he gone to live with the wild dogs? Would he again be my enemy? I knew that i could never kill him,now that he had been my friend.Then i heard the sound of dogs fighting. The sound came from far off, perhaps from the ravine,and taking my bow and arrows , i hurried in that direction. I went from the path that lead to the spring. There are tracks of the wild dogs and among them i saw the large prints of Rontu. Then again i herd the sound of fighting. When i got to the sea cliff i saw that Rontu had won the fight. After that the wild dogs were in a half circle surronding Rontu. Me and Rontu walked home and when we got home he layed in the sun and like his little wound !

chapter 18

• Karana captured two baby birds
• the birds too big to fit in the cage so she let them rome free  in the yard
• I called the bigger one tainor after a young that died fighting the aluets
• I called the other one Lurai witch i  wished to be named.

CHAPTER 19

• The gulls picked up the scallops and dropped them from the sky like rain.
• Rontu was walking,he dropped his fish there he saw the giant devil fish.
• Karana threw the shaft and the devil fish did not move.
• Then she released the coils.  The devil fish headed for the cave.
• She held on tight to the devil fish . The devil fish got away.
