CHAPTERS 16

• Karana is working on a canoe and finds a new cave. The
• Cave is very dark. While she is in there she finds a
• Devilfish (octopus).But it's not just a regular devilfish
• It is the biggest one Karana has seen in here intire life.
• She really wants to eat it because it is really tastey.

CHAPTER 17

• The wild dogs came to Karana's house and wined at the fence.
• The next day Rontu left and then Karana found him fighting two other dogs.
• She did not intervene because they would fight again and it might be less
• Favorable to Rontu. The fighting went on and Rontu emerged victorious.
• Then he came back to Karana's house and acted as if nothing had happened.

CHAPTER 17

• Karana had found a birds nest next to her house in a tree.
• There were two eggs in the nest. Karana toke them into her
• House and they soon hatched. She trained them to be her new
• Pet birds before they could fly. She named them Tainor and
• Luria.

CHAPTER 19

• One day Karana was wandering around when she found the giant devilfish.
• She threw her spear at it and stroke it. She then tuged at the line and pulled it
• Back. Then Rontu thinking it was dead jumped at it then the octopus wraped
• Its arms around Rontu drowning him. Karana quickly jumped at it and stabed
• It again and again. She left the dead body there because she could not lift it.

CHAPTER 20

• Karana went into a new cave she had found and found
• Out that her ancestors used to live their because she found
• Some skeletons in the cave. Karana could not get out because
• The tide was high. Karana had to stay in there all night. Once she
• Got out she named it the black caveand never came back again. Then the aleuts came.

CHAPTER 21

• Karana now knew that the aleuts were back so she found a new place
• To live. After a while an aleut girl found Karana and Karana could have killed her
• But didn't. Rontu knew the girl because he used to be her dog. The girl liked The
• Dress Karana was working on. The girl laid a necklace of black stones on a rock
• For Karana.

CHAPTER 22

• Tutok took the necklace from the rock and put it close to the cave
• Karana was in and was about to run off but Karan called her name
• Amd she came back. Karana told Tutok her secret name. The next day
• The aleuts left back to where they came from.
