• The Babylonians lived in Iraq between the rivers Tigris and Euphrates
• They ruled much of the world

PERSIANS

• From country of Persia
• What we now call Iran

GREEKS

• The Greeks believed In many gods
• They allowed the Jews to practice their own religion

ROMANS

• The Romans take over this land and rename it Palestine
• They destroyed Jewish temples and made the Jews slaves
• Jews realized they needed to flee to Europe, but they still considered the land to be theirs

MUSLIMS

• The Muslims move into Palestine and they believe that the land belongs to them because they think the Jews chose to leave
• The Jews believe the land is theirs because they think were forced out

OTTOMAN TURKS

• The ottoman Turks were a very powerful civilization
• They ruled the Middle East for over 3000 years

BRITISH

• The British take over Israel after wwii
• The British make false promises to the Jewish people and the Palestinians
• Many people blame the conflict in Israel on the British for making false promises

JEWS

• In 1948, after the holocaust, the United Nations declare Israel homeland for Jews
• The Palestinians were not happy about this
