  • They like to live underneath rocks or coral

CLIMATE

  • Since the Tasmanian blenny lives underwater, It doesn't get any rain
  • In the saltwater biome, there are no seasons
  • Blennies like warmer water

WHAT PLANTS LIVE IN THE SALTWATER BIOME?

  • Sea grass grows almost exactly like grass
  • Coralline algae grows on rock and is usually a bright purple or pink
  • Red algae resembles coral
  • Kelp grows in "forests"
  • Seaweed grows wherever

WHAT ANIMALS LIVE IN THE SALTWATER BIOME

  • The sea urchin is a spiky invertebrate
  • The green moray eel is known for attacking scuba divers
  • The clownfish is the only known fish that does not get stung by anemone

HOW HAS THE TASMANIAN BLENNY ADAPTED?

  • They have a brownish color to blend in with the coral
  • A relative of the blenny uses poison to help protect themselves (goby)
  • The horns on a Tasmanian blenny makes it look like a fighter
  • Have paired fins so they can crawl on land for small amounts of time
  • Has a layer of "slime" so they don't dry out on land
