PAVLOV'S DOGS

Pavlov had done many experiments before, but this is the one that stands out.

He began testing his dogs' reactions to stimuli.

He found his dogs would begin to salivate when he rang a bell.

The dogs had learned to associate the bell with receiving food. This method is called Classical, or Pavlovian, Conditioning. This is a method of associating a stimulus with an outcome.

The results of the experiment were major steps in the field of psychology.
