BEFORE MLB

  • Before Jackie was in mlb he was on a minor traveling team called the Montreal royals
  • Where he played 2nd base

MILITARY

  • In 1942 he was drafted to a segregated army base in Kansas.
  • Robinson was reassigned to Fort Hood, Texas, where he joined the 761st "Black Panthers" Tank Battalion. While at Fort

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

  • Jackie was an American baseball player who became the first African American to play in Major League Baseball. Robinson broke the baseball color line when the Brooklyn Dodgers started him at first base on April 15, 1947. As the first major league team to play a african American man since the 1880s, the Dodgers ended racial segregation by adding him to the team.

AFTER MLB

  • After Jackie Robinson retired from mlb on January 5th 1957 he marched with mr.luther king jr in Washington for segregation to end and also became a movie star as he was staring in numerous movies about him

HALL OF FAME

  • Not to long after he retired Jackie Robinson became the first African American to be in the hall of fame
