JACKIE ROBINSON

  • Born: January 31, 1919 in Cairo, Georgia
  • Other sports: football, baseball,tennis, and basketball.
  • He went to college at UCLA
  • And starred in track, baseball, football, and basketball.
  • After his career of a football player came to a end he was in World War 2.

CAREER

  • He 1st played baseball for the Kansas City Monarchs
  • He joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947
  • He became the 1st african american to play baseball in the major legue.
  • He won Rookie of the Year his 1st year.
  • In his career he hit a batting average of .311, hit 137 homeruns, and stole 197 bases.

ENDING

  • In 1962 he was elected to the baseball Hall Of Fame.
  • He died of an heart attack on October 24, 1972
