There were lots of Gaelic speaking clans in the Jacobites
Loads of Gaelic poets supported Jacobites
Lots of Jacobite songs are Gaelic:
Òran do Phrionnsa Tearlach, O Hi Ri Ri, tha E Tighinn
Most of these songs date from the Jacobite Rebellion

Some of them are about famous battles

By 1780, to be Jacobite was no longer revolutionary
It was nostalgic and hankering after a golden age
New, romantic lyrics were composed
Sometimes they used old Gaelic tunes
