HOPEFUL
Cartier was hopeful to find Asia, and discover its wealthy markets.

BRAVE
He was not scared of what the Native Americans did to the other explorers.

DETERMINED
After he decided to forget about the Asian islands… He started looking for the kingdom of Sagueny, told to be made of gold.

TRAVELER
To prove his strength, he traveled to Brazil. Then, later he traveled to Canada.

Who: Jacques was French, and was a navigator.

What: He sailed across the Atlantic to Canada in search of Asia.

When: His voyage happened on April 20,1534.

Where: He landed in Canada.

Why: He did this for gold and glory.
