They are endangered and humans are their main threat.
They are being shot by farmers who are protecting their livestock.
Humans and jaguars compete for the same prey so food sources can be scarce.
Protected strongholds have been set up to keep people from destroying the land.
The DWA is taking big steps for conservation with a jaguar radio satellite tracking project.

FACTS
The jaguar is the largest cat in the Americas. They weigh 100-250lb and are 4-6 ft.
Jaguars rarely attack humans.
Jaguars will roar and grunt but they will also meow like a house cat.
In some cultures, the jaguar is a god.
Jaguars love water unlike most cats and are excellent swimmers.
