  • The government is a constitutional parliamentary democracy
  • The flag has three colors: Yellow, Green, and Black
  • Yellow stands for sunshine
  • Green stands for the island, and green grasses
  • Black stands for creativity

National Anthem

  • The national anthem is called: Jamaica, Land We Love
  • The music and lyrics is by: Hugh Sherlock and Robert Lightbourne
  • The song was adopted by Jamaica in 1962

GDP (Gross Domestic Product)

  • GDP OER (Official Exchange Rate): $14.39 billion
  • GDP per Capita: $9,000
  • GDP is that is measures the value of goods and services
  • What GDP means about Jamaica is: that it is not a very wealthy country

  • They help mostly with cooking, and raising the children

  • He was born on August 21, 1986, in Trelawny Jamaica
  • He was acknowledged as a runner at age fourteen
  • He has won 6 Olympic medals (3 gold), and has set three world records
  • He is known as the worlds fastest man because of the records he has set
  • He now lives in Kingston Jamaica

Bob Marley

  • Bob Marley was born in 1945, in 9 miles, St. Ann, Jamaica
  • He died in Miami on May 11, 1981 at age 36
  • He died of cancer, and his life was short, but eventful
  • He was an activist, and he wanted to see change in the world 
  • He wrote about 230 songs and many were written as an activist

Marcus Garvey

  • He was born in Jamaica on August 17, 1887
  • He was a Black-rights acitivist
  • He believed that everybody who had come from Africa should go back
  • He also believed that they should have more rights
  • He died on June 10, 1940
