  • The Great Rift Valley is one of the greatest geological features on Earth
  • Disney used the Great Rift Valley as the backdrop for The Lion King
  • Mount Kenya is the second highest peak in Africa
  • Even though it's on the equator, it's covered with snow

  • They protect many endangered species of animals
  • Tsavo National Park is the largest reserve
  • The Maasai Mara is one of the most popular with tourists

  • Live in southern Kenya and Northern Tanzania
  • They are semi-nomadic
  • Their language is called "Maa"

  • EUNOTO: coming of age ceremony (males)
  • Maasai warriors perform adumu
  • ADUMU aka "the jumping dance" 
  • This dance has become iconic

  • Their beading is worn as personal adornment
  • Beading is made and worn as a celebration
  • For example beauty, marriage, warrior-hood
  • Each colour symbolizes something different
