JAMES CLERK MAXWELL

Scottish Physicist

JAMES CLARK MAXWELL

  • Born on June 13th, 1831
  • Born in Edinburgh, Scotland
  • Died on November 5th, 1879
  • Attended the university of Edinburgh

James was a Scottish Physicist notable for the classical theory of Electromagnetic Radiation, Bringing together electricity, magnetism, and light as manifestations of the same phenomenon.

Electromagnetic radiation is a form of radiant energy that is released by electromagnetic processes. Visible light is one type of electromagnetic radiation, other familiar forms are invisible electromagnetic radiations such as X-rays and radio waves.

HIS WORK LEAD TO THE PREDICTION AND EXISTENCE OF RADIO WAVES, he was also known for presenting the first durable colored photograph.

Attending marischal college, he proved Saturn's ring where made of numerous small particles he called ''Brick-bats'', each independently orbiting Saturn, he was only 25.

James is considered the 3rd greatest physicist right after Newton and Einstein

"All the mathematical sciences are founded on relations between physical laws and laws of numbers, so that the aim of exact science is to reduce the problems of nature to the determination of quantities by operations with numbers."
-James C. Maxwell

If James c. Maxwell didn't exist, we wouldn't know what the rings of Saturn are made of, or how to make radios.
