Early History

People first came to Japan about 30,000 years ago. At that time the main islands were connected to Siberia and Korea by bridges.

About The Land

The Japanese people have deep affection for the beauty of the landscape. The ancient Shinto religion says natural features like mountain, waterfalls, and forest have their own spirits, like souls.

The Japanese are famous for their willingness to work very hard. Children are taught to show respect for others, especially parents and bosses.

The Culture

The earliest Kimonos were heavily influenced by traditional Han Chinese clothing, known today as Hanfu, through Japanese embassies to China which resulted in extensive Chinese culture adaptions by Japan as early as the 5th century AD.
