Jeroboam was the 13 king of Israel. He ruled 41 years as king. Under his leadership, Israel reached its greatest geographical extent and the military power.
However his reign was criticized by his prophets for its spiritual corruption. His reign was the most prosperous that Israel had ever know. Hosea and Amos declared that sin widely prevailed in the land. He repeated the sin of jeroboam.
He was son and successor of joash. Although his reign was long their was still heavy guilt added to Israel. After him his kingdom rapidly declined...... His own dynasty perished within a year
