JESUS HAS THE VICTORY

What do you need from Jesus?

Do you have anything you have been praying about? Let's write down your prayer requests on this board. (Write requests.)

You know what? Jesus can answer these prayers, because Jesus has the victory. That means "Jesus wins." So, I want you to listen to the lesson, and whenever I say, "Jesus has the victory," I want you to call out, "Jesus wins!" Let's practice it a few times.
"Jesus has the victory,"
"Jesus wins!"
"Jesus has the victory,"
"Jesus wins!""Jesus has the victory,"
"Jesus wins!"

Good job.

Jesus has the victory over the devil.

Then Jesus . . . was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. The devil took him up and revealed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. “I will give you the glory of these kingdoms and authority over them,” the devil said, “because they are mine to give to anyone I please. I will give it all to you if you will worship me.” Bwah, ha, ha!

Jesus replied, “The Scriptures say,

‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

Jesus has the victory over rejection.

Then Jesus returned . . . to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home; he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. He read:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
. . . Then he began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”

Everyone spoke . . was amazed . . . “How can this be?” they asked. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”

Then he said, “You will undoubtedly quote me this proverb: ‘Physician, heal yourself’—meaning, ‘Do miracles here in your hometown like those you did in Capernaum.’ But I tell you the truth, no prophet is accepted in his own hometown.

When they heard this, the people in the synagogue were furious. Jumping up, they mobbed him and forced him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They intended to push him over the cliff, but he passed right through the crowd and went on his way.

Has anybody ever told you, "Get away from us! You can't be in our group?" That's no fun, but you can pray to Jesus, and He will help you because the same thing has happened to Him at Nazareth.

The people from Nazareth rejected Jesus, but JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER REJECTION!

Jesus has the victory over evil.

Once when [Jesus] was in the synagogue, a man possessed by an evil spirit cried out, shouting, “Go away! . . . Have you come to destroy us?”

But Jesus reprimanded him. “Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered. At that, the demon threw the man to the floor as the crowd watched; then it came out of him without hurting him further.

Amazed, the people exclaimed, “What authority and power this man’s words possess! Even evil spirits obey him, . . .!” The news about Jesus spread through every village in the entire region.

JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER EVIL! JESUS HAS THE VICTORY!

Has anyone ever watched a scary movie? Don't watch scary movies, but if you do see something scary, don't worry. Just pray to Jesus because JESUS HAS THE VICTORY!
(kids say: "JESUS WINS!")

Jesus has the victory over fevers.

After leaving the synagogue that day, Jesus went to Simon’s home, where he found Simon’s mother-in-law very sick with a high fever. “Please heal her,” everyone begged.

"She got up and prepared a meal for them."

Standing at her bedside, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And she got up at once and prepared a meal for them.

Have you ever had a fever? If you get sick, pray to Jesus, because JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER FEVERS! JESUS HAS THE VICTORY!

JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER FAILURE

One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God. He noticed two empty boats at the water’s edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push it out into the water [LET ME SEE YOU PUSH THE BOAT OUT]. So Jesus sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.”

“Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing."

The fishermen had tried to catch fish, and they failed. [Everybody give me a "thumbs down."] They had failed. No fish. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. They were fishless. They had no fish.

"This time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear!"

Simon said to Jesus, "But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking. [Everybody say, "fish everywhere!]

When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m such a sinful man.” For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were the others with him.

"As soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus."

Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.

Have you ever tried to do something, and it didn't work out at all? Have you tried to do something and you just failed? JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER FAILURE!

Simon tried to catch fish, and he failed! But JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER FAILURE! JESUS HAS THE VICTORY!
(kids say: "JESUS WINS!")

JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER FAILURE

If you've tried to do something, and you've come up with nothing, give it to Jesus! Simon was washing his nets, and when Jesus came to the shore, Simon gave Him the only thing he had: an empty boat. Sometimes you feel like you don't have anything to give to Jesus - that you're just empty, like an empty boat, you've failed, failed, failed. Give your empty boat to Jesus! Jesus used Simons boat to preach, then He filled it full of fish! It was everything that Simon had wanted! He wanted to catch lots of fish to sell in the marketplace, but when He met Jesus, he had all the fish he could ever want, but all of the sudden, He didn't want the fish anymore. Simon left that huge pile of fish, and his boat, and his nets, and He followed Jesus, because you can always catch more fish, but you'll never meet anybody like Jesus! JESUS HAS THE VICTORY.

JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER MEANNESS

After these things,

Levi

He went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he left all, rose up, and followed Him.

Everybody gasp: "ahhhh!"

Tax collectors were sneaky. Tax collectors were greedy.
Tax collectors stole money from people.
Tax collectors helped Rome, the bad guys!
Nobody likes tax collectors!

But Levi obeyed Jesus.

Then Levi gave Him a great feast in his own house.

Then Levi gave Jesus a great feast in his own house. And there were a great number of tax collectors and others who sat down with them.

The scribes and the Pharisees complained.

And their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, “Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” "You should NOT hang around people like that. We don't like them and you shouldn't either!"

Is that a mean thing to do? Jesus said to love everyone, but the scribes and the pharisees did not love tax collectors. Nope.

JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER MEANNESS!

Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Jesus didn't listen to the scribes and the pharisees! He kept loving the people that nobody else liked. Mean people can't stop Jesus! JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER MEANNESS! JESUS HAS THE VICTORY!
(kids say: "JESUS WINS!")

JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER OUR SINS!

JESUS ALWAYS HAS THE VICORY BECAUSE JESUS IS GOD.

Even when he was crucified and died, Jesus had the victory. When Jesus died, He got the victory over our sins.

JESUS HAS THE VICTORY!
(kids say: "JESUS WINS!")

JESUS HAS THE VICTORY OVER DEATH!

When Jesus rose again, He got the victory over death. JESUS HAS THE VICTORY.
(kids say: "JESUS WINS!")

So, let's look at our prayer requests. We don't have the victory, but we can pray to Jesus, and he will win the victory for us. Jesus wins!

Let's come to the front and pray for these prayer requests, believing that Jesus has the victory for us.
