John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States of America. He succeeded Dwight D. Eisenhower after winning a rigorous election opposing Richard Nixon.
A little over a year After joining the U.S. navy reserve, he was promoted to lieutenant junior grade. He completed his training, and then was assigned to Motor Torpedo Squadron FOUR.
In April 1943, he was assigned to Motor Torpedo Squadron TWO. On the night of august 1st, on its 31st mission, Kennedy spotted a Japanese destroyer and turned to attack, but got rammed by the Japanese destroyer "Amagiri", causing the ship to be cut in half.
Kennedy asked his crew wither they wanted to fight, or surrender. As the crew chose to survive, Kennedy towed a badly burned team mate to an island three miles away with a life jacket clenched between his teeth.
His goals consisted of fighting communism, promoting domestic policy, and cutting federal taxes. (Which he did great at)
He faced quite a few obstacles, and even diffused some of the most complicated situations. His obstacles consisted of but were not limited to the Space Race, Nuclear Arms Race, The Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Bay of Pigs.
After several attempts to negotiate with the soviets, we finally got the Soviet Union, and the United Kingdom (including ourselves) to sign the nuclear test ban treaty on August 5, 1963.
President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald at 12:30 p.m. Central Standard Time on Friday, November 22, 1963, in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas.
