JIM CROW LAWS

  • The Jim Crow laws were racial segregation laws-state and local and the were enacted after the reconstruction all period.
  • In southern United States it continued in force until 1965

  • White people didn't like the Jim Crow laws because the didn't like the idea of free labor.
  • They resented black Americans. They threatened the ones who exercised their new rights.

  • The African American population gained some popularity and got a chance to express their talents
  • Most used their rights to become entertainers such as dancers,singers and even musicians who played instruments in bands and small groups.

  • Often they would steal taunt and break rules just to flaunt the rights they had.
