HOW DID IT ALL START

  • "Jim Crow," appeared in sheet music written by Thomas Dartmouth
  • Darked skin to imatate black people
  • It widespread though all over the U.S
  • Soon later in the years it was making a major impact

THE IMPACT

  • The 14 amendment
  • Gave citizenship to recently freed slaves
  • From the south and protect their civil liberties
  • But most southern states refused to accept

SEGERGATION

  • A culture of brutality
  • Terrorism further separated blacks
  • It made a life for an african american horrable
  • They cant go to the same schools and stores

KKK

  • A mob gang
  • That is known by killing other races and reigions
  • It was carried out by white juries a club in the south
  • Lynching ,beating blacks and other races
  • The building blocks of a criminal gang

END JIM CROW LAWS

  • This followed in 1959
  • In the superme court brown vs borad of EDU of topeka kansas for seperations of races
  • Blacks in the south used legal suits like sit ins boycotts
  • A march on DC over 200,000 dranitized the movement to end jim crow
