Known by many as the town idiot

Kroll moved to northwest Germany
He was known by the local children as "Uncle Joachim"
He had fantastic toys, candy, and dolls

Kroll would surprise his victims and strangle them quickly.
Afterward he would strip the body and have intercourse with it.
He would then mutilate and cut off pieces to be eaten later.
He was very particular about where he killed.
Only killing in the same place on a few occasions, years apart.

Kroll told a neighbor, Oscar Muller, not to use the top floor toilet.
He explained "It is blocked up with guts".
When Muller looked in the toilet, he saw what he thought was butcher remains
