Full name; Jehonne d'Arc

JOAN'S LIFE
Joan was born a peasant girl
She had her first vision when she was only 12
Charles VII allowed Joan to battle against the English
She led the French army to victory in the Battle of Orleans
In 1430 Joan was captured by the Burgundians and was sold to the English

HOW JOAN GOT INTO THE MILITARY
Joan's voices told her to cut her hair short, wear men's clothing
and pick up arms to go into battle.
She convinced the captain of the Dauphin's forces to let her
lead the resistance to the English invasion of France in the
Hundred Years War.
5.
JOAN'S CAPTURE
She was captured and sold to the English
She was tried with witchcraft and Hersey
She was also viciously attacked for wearing men's clothing
She was convicted after a 14 month interrogation
Charles VII would not help save her and she was condemned with death
6.
JOAN'S EXECUTION
At the age of 19, on May 30, 1431, Joan of Arc
was burned at the stake.
After her death, people considered her a saint sent from God himself.
