Born 1908 I'm Iona Station Ontario. Graduated from the University of Toronto in 1931 also earned a doctorate at the University of California at Berkeley in 1934. Taught economics at Harvard and Princeton until the Second World War. John also was the editor for Fortune magazine for a five year span. He has many noted publications.
Galbraith rose to his peak after the Second World War. Despite the Cold War an unparalleled degree of prosperity in Canada and the United States was present. However the amount of poverty in the societies did not diminish. During the same time, large international corporations were emerging as a new influence in economic decision making.
Galbraith argued that the real need in society was for the production of public goods serving common good. He thought national production should be shifted to serve theses public priorities.
We think his findings were useful because he spoke what he truly believed in and was an influence on economic decisions. Galbraith also popularized the view that in the world of the international corporation, corporate managers. He was also of great use because during the Second World War Galbraith worked in the price admission and after the war was appointed director of the US Strategic Bombing Survey. Mainly he developed a distinctive way of doing economics that the US and Canada depend on.
John Kenneth Galbraith findings had an impact on the economy by stating very clearly what his views were and getting people to follow. He was a very persuasive and people believed what he said. Such as the views on corporate persons having the real power in decisions makers. Causing people to put more faith in the government leading the economy. His books influenced other economists around the world to make similar decisions as he believed in. Being called one of Canada's most notable exports to the United States he had lots of influence on the peoples decisions getting them in the governments favour. Which shaped the economy's future the have the government strongly involved.
