John Newlands was a English scientist . He arranged the elements present at the time into a table in order of relative atomic mass.

The table he created showed repeating periodic patterns of properties, but it had problems.

He put iron in the same group as oxygen and sulphur which are none metals.

This was a BIG no no in the science world so it was not accepted by scientists.
