A CURIOUS CHILD
BORN IN MADISON WISCONSIN
I was born on May 31, 1951.
My early years were spent in two small villages in Southern Wisconsin.

A NORMAL LIFE
UNTIL
I had a normal 50’s life for serval years.
DEATH
THE FATHER DIED
My father died of lung cancer durning my 1st grade year. He died just before Christmas.

BACK TO COAL COUNTRY
MOVING TO THE COAL FIELDS
My mother did not deal well with being a single mom and went back to her native Kentucky. She had family there and felt more secure.
HARD TIMES
We were poor. Life was hand to mouth.
ABUSE
I SURVIVE
My mother became involved with a very abusive man. I suffered through years of psychological and physical abuse. I answered to “boy” until I left for the army.

HIGH SCHOOL
DROPPED OUT
I dropped out of high school in the 9th grade. I would not return to formal school and earned my GED after military service. I was a punk.

ARMY
THE DAY AFTER 17
My mother signed for me to enlist in the army the day after my 17th birthday. I became an armor crewman.
FACTORY WORKER
After military service I worked in various manufacturing industries. Most of my experience was with plastics.

FIRST MARRIAGE
AND HEATHER ARRIVES
I met a young lady and we were married. We had one child. The marriage didn’t last. Our daughter’s name is Heather.
