  • Booth broke his leg jumping onto the stage after the shooting.
  • He rode to virginia to Dr. Samuel Mudds house to treat his leg.
  • Booth hid in a barn and refused to surrender when given the choice.
  • On April 26 booth was shot and killed in a burning barn.

  • The assassination of president lincoln happened
  • after the war was over.
  • Although there was no effect on the war
  • his death had an effect on the reconstruction period.
  • When president lincoln died he took his plans with him.
