PRESENTATION OUTLINE

My presentation is about Jim Jones. He was born in Indiana in 1931

It happened near in Port Kaituma, Guyana

In 1978 it was Jamestown massacre

Jones was a cult leader and founder of People's Temple

Jim Jones was neglected and his formative years were filled with the shame of poverty and loneliness. His mental problems are example of nurture. When he was a child, parents didn't care about him, so he created his own "circle of friends".
Jones felt, like he didn't belong to this world.

Jim Jones was looking for admiration, nobody sympathized with him. So he tried harder to get a sense of self importance, but he was envious of others. Also, he had no sympathy from people. This points to a Narcissistic Personality Disorder or NPD.

It is a disorder, when a person has super confidence, but inside has low opinion of himself and does not like to be criticized.

My opinion about Jim jones actions to create his own temple where he could control his people in many cities, Jones's influence over his congregation created paranoia and ended with death

Psychoanalytical perspective says, that most of things he was doing were subconscious.

He had denial mechanism. He thought that he was doing the right things, but that "right" things lead to massacre

He committed massacre, where more than 300 kids lost their life and there were 606 adults

909 people died in Johnstown (303 of them were children) From cyanide poisoning

Jim Jones put the cyanide poison inside of a drink, Kool Aid. Very sorrowful ending of life for them. At the end Jones put a bullet in his head.
