PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Jose Antonio Navarro was born in San Antonio in 1795.
When Navarro was a teenager he suffered three events that changed his life,he injured his leg so badly that he walked with a limp for the rest of his life.The second event was the death of his father.The third event was even worse,the war came.
The Battle of Medina was the deadliest battle ever. Navarro and his family were in danger,so his family was forced to flee. When he and his family got back everything was ruined.Navarro started trading horse.The government made it illegal to trad horse, so he got put in jail.
When he got out of jail, Mexico had gained its independence from Spain. During this time he met Stephen F. Austin,they became friends. In 1841 a group of men went to Santa Fe.The Santa Fe Expedition was a mistake.
Narvarro got captured and was sentenced to death,but he managed to escape.
He died in San Antonio in 1871.
