STORY OF JOSEPH AND ASENETH

ASENETH

• Daughter of Potipherah
• Hamitic (descendant of Noah's son)
• 18 years old

SINGLE

• Many suitors, but Aseneth despised all of them
• Even the Pharoah's son wanted Aseneth

ARRANGED MARRIAGE

• Potipherah tells Aseneth that she will marry Joseph

• Aseneth refuses to marry Joseph

A CHANGE OF PLANS

• Aseneth takes one look at Joseph and falls in love

OBSTACLES

• Joseph will not kiss Aseneth unless she converts

• Aseneth is ambushed
• Pharaoh's son is wounded
• Pharoah's son's escort is killed

IN THE END...

• Pharoah's son dies
• Pharoah dies of grief
• Joseph is appointed Pharoah
