DURING THE HOLOCAUST

  • Bloody Monday (9/3/39) - hid in attic
  • Sent to build highway for Hitler (Cieszanow)
  • He was 1/3 out of 1,000 to live
  • Deported to Czestochowa (spent most time)

DURING THE HOLOCAUST

  • Retuned to camps in September 1942
  • Clay factory = relief (only 10 weeks)
  • Freed by Russians in 1945

AFTER THE WAR

  • Stayed at Displaced Persons camps (with wife)
  • The Shers moved to New Orleans, Lousianna
  • Father of two children
  • Died at the age of 91
