The novel is about the quest to the center of the Earth. The story begins in Hamburg, Germany in May 1862 with professor Otto Lidenbrockk reading a book he had just bought. It was written by a famous Icelander explorer, Arne. After decoding the scrap sheet of paper, he decided to take the journey. The paper assured him it was possible. Putting to the side his nephews concerns he insisted that Axel take the journey with him.
My opinion of this book is that it teaches certain values, which we should all learn. While reading this novel I learned about courage, commitment and dedication, loyalty, trust, and respect.
I encourage others to read this book to learn on how important it is to learn all these values.
