WHAT IS AN EXPLORER

An explorer is someone who is searching for gold, land,and resources in the Americas. They have to be ready to take action and are brave. They travel by foot or by boat. During the late 1400s-1600s.

JUAN PONCE DE LEON

Juan Ponce De Leon was his full name. He was born in 1474 and he died in 1521. He was a soldier and was trained as a knight.

HOW/WHAT

Ponce de Leon's crew got there by boats. To go he had to get permission from the King and Queen of Spain to travel to the Americas. He traveled to the Americas 3 times.

WHEN/WHERE

It was around 1513, when Ponce de Leon traveled from Spain to Borinquen/Puerto Rico . He also traveled from Spain to Florida.
6.

WHY

Ponce de leon traveled to Florida for the Fountain of Youth to become young again. He never found the fountain of youth. He also went to Florida to claim it for Spain. He traveled to Puerto Rico for a outpost.
