  • Abram/Abraham-He is a person who changed his name to ''high father''.
  • Moses-He is important because he saw a slave being abused by it's owner and than he killed the slaves owner.
  • Elijah-He got mad because god told him to challenge people who believed in a diffirent god

Symbols of faith and meaning

  • The chai symbol-This is mostly worn on jewelry and it is worn by jewish people.
  • The Menorah-This is a lighted candle holder used to celebrate hannukiuh.
  • The Hamesh hand-It represents God the one who will protect all those who come upon them.

major holy days

  • Hanukkiah-That means ''dedicate'' it is important because thousands of years ago there was a war and then found a container of holy oil and it burned for eight days instead of one.
  • Sukkot-In 586 B.C.E Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jursalem. They celebrate Sukkot by dwelling in booths, temporary little shacks,because of their ancestors lived in booths when they left Egypt.
  • Shavout-This is a day of singing and dancing! Why is is important is because Moses recieved the ten commandments seven weeks after the Isrealites left.

  • When a child is born his father has to bless him at a ceromony.
  • The Jewish synagouge that is a house prayer.
  • Rituals are usually preformed in jewish synagouges.

  • Spritual jews-Believe that a jew can be with a non-jew.
  • God judaism-They believe that there is only one God
  • Orthodox judaism-People who observed religious codes and behaviors.
