- Lived from 100 B.C. to 44 B.C.
- Full name: Gaius Julius Caesar
- Assassinated on March 15, 44 B.C.
- Had 3 children: Augustus (Adoptive), Caesarion, and Julia Caesaris
What Leadership Did He Have?
He was the leader of the Roman Republic. He was the dictator and general of Rome.
He was a good leader in many different ways, from winning battles to making changes in the community.
At first, He became the leader of Rome with 2 other people forming the first triumvirate. But Marcus Crassus (other ruler) died. It was only him and another leader named Pompey.
He then showed remarkable military skill by claiming land and ending the Gallic Wars. This made Pompey look bad. So a civil war started and Caesar won becoming solo dictator of Rome.
War Leader
He won many battles/wars for Rome. A couple are Gallic wars, Caesar's civil war, and he defeated the germans. After a big battle he had a very famous speech, he said "I came, I saw, and I conquered."
Leadership as a Dictator
Julius Caesar was a dictator and part of the triumvirate. He did many things to help the community.
WHAT DID HE DO FOR THE COMMUNITY?
- He drained large tracts of marshy lands
- Begun measures to reduce congestion in Rome
- Gave voting rights to the inhabitants of his former province
- Revised taxing laws
- He reformed the calendar making the Julian Calendar
