Have you ever been on an incredible, tough, and frightening journey? If not, you shall join the amazing adventure with pioneers: Kaeya, Sarah, and Brooke
Missouri is the first place that we decided to take a break at. When we were at Missouri, we saw many Mexican and Indian traders. It was very noisy, muddy, and crowded. Ox teams, mule teams and wagons blocked the trail.
The days we were out on the prairie felt like one long picnic. The grassy meadows stretched away, and there was no sign of a house or even a tree. "It is like a big garden !" Brooke stated. Sarah ignored Brooke and went wandering off.
That afternoon we arrived at Colonel Russel's company. We were sitting on a box with white topped wagons in sight. There were women hanging cloths on the bushes to dry in the bright sunshine.
We had to build a boat to get across The Platte River. Our ponies, horses, mules, and oxen worked hard to get our provisions, wagons, ourselves, and themselves across the rocky valley and strong-current of a river. It was like a canyon!
We then arrived at Fort Bridger and many events happened there. We arrived on July 28. We had bad news. Mr. Hastings, our good friend, was not there! We noticed that he went to party with another company. We had to find him.
CONCLUSION We learned that traveling from one place to another in wagon is very challenging. So we recmmomend to you not to take the journey west due to frightening, dangerous, and challenging obstacles and events.
