Step 1. What is your why?

Ask yourself why you are setting this goal?

What difference will achieving this goal make to your business, your relationships, your health, your wealth, your life?

Your why needs to be strong and focused - a “wooly why” is no good to anyone!

Make it strong!

Step 2. Be smart

You have probably already heard of SMART goals.

(S) Specific
(M) Measurable
(A) Achievable
(R) Relevant
(T) Time-bound

For most people this is a great framework for getting started, however there are times when we may need to look at un-smart goals. (Dumb Goals)

Consider Google's Larry Page and his Moon Shots.

The two most important factors are keeping your goal specific and measurable.

We discuss SMART goals in more depth here: https://kajoler.com/smart-goals/

Step 3. Tell somebody

This step may seem straightforward.

You have a new goal, declare it to the world.

Yet some studies have found telling people your goals make you less likely to achieve them.

Personally, I think the fors out weigh the psychological factors of the against.

Here at Kajoler accountability is a key part of our 90 day programme and being part of our mastermind community means you can ask for help and advice from other members too.

Step 4. Write it down, pin it up

Don't be fooled.

Just by writing down your goal does not mean you will achieve it.

It does however give you focus and clarity.

And you will be part of a small minority of people who have clearly defined written goals.

I would suggest you go even further, don't keep your goals hidden away in a journal or notebook.

Print them out and put them up where you will see them everyday.

This could be a wall planner, a calendar or maybe even post it notes around your desk.

This daily reminder will help you concentrate on your goal.

Step 5. Reward yourself

We are usually very quick to reprimand ourselves.

It's easy to feel bad about the things we didn't do.

Not quite so easy to reward ourselves when we do achieve something.

Usually we are already thinking about our next goal.

I suggest for any 90 day programme you set up a specific reward scheme.

Now this doesn't have to be anything over the top but a special treat for when you finish the 90 days is important.

So stop beating yourself up and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Step 6. Review

Take time to review your goal.

It's easy to get carried away when goal setting, all those good intentions can easily fade if the goal was not right in the first place.

Once you have decided on your goal - sleep on it.

This pause and review technique will give you time to make sure you are on the right path.

Step 7. Work to a plan

Now you have a goal it's time to create a plan.

Here at Kajoler our 90 day goal achievement programme uses "Headway Targets"

Think of the headway targets as stepping stones or the improvements needed to achieve your goal.

From these headway targets you can build a roadmap to include daily and weekly tasks or actions to help you on your way to success.

[hed-wey]. Make headway, to proceed forward; advance; progress.

"A goal without a plan is just a wish."
Antoine de Saint-Exupery
French writer (1900 - 1944)

Step 8. PMA

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't... you're right.”

Positive Mental Attitude is a concept first developed and introduced in 1937 by Napoleon Hill in the book "Think and Grow Rich."

The book never actually uses the term, but develops the importance of positive thinking as a principle to success.

This book and many others are discussed via the Kajoler Book Club, one of the membership benefits of joining Kajoler.

Positive mental attitude (PMA) is the philosophy that having an optimistic disposition in every situation in one's life attracts positive changes and increases achievement.

Step 9. Flexibility

Be Like Water.

When achieving your goals you will have to learn to be flexible.

You need to embrace this and like a tree you must learn to bend or you will snap!

Far too many metaphors here now - ha ha

What I mean is that "things" out of your control will happen.

You may not always hit your targets.

Some days you wont be able to get the work done.

This is life and we have to adapt and knowing you can be flexible is essential but this does not mean you can take the easy option.

I would rather you tweak your goal than give up at the first hurdle you may encounter.

Step 10. Start

If you want to achieve your goals you have to start.

Make a commitment and stick to it.

Here at Kajoler we are dedicated to help you on the journey of achieving your goals but you have to push the start button.

We cannot do that for you.

Stop wasting time.
Stop wasting money.
Stop wasting your opportunities.
