This genus of Protists are known to cause the disease Malaria. They spread this disease through the use of blood to blood and saliva contact in mosquito vectors. Symptoms include headaches, chills, fatigue, sweating, and nausea.

This type of protist is known to cause the Chagas Disease. Symptoms of the Chagas' disease include heart failure, throat congestion, constipation, and abdomen pain. This disease is caused when the protist is in a assassin bug. The bug attaches to the victim and spreads the microbe through blood contact then defecating on the wound.

This protist is known to cause diarrhea problems, vomiting, and abdominal pain. This protist spreads through contact with contaminated water.
