KITTIWAT UNARROM

Created by Tayler Murray

INFO ON ARTIST

  • Name- Kittiwat Unarrom
  • Born in 1977, and is still alive.
  • He was born in Thailand and still lives there.

EDUCATION

  • Kittiwat attended B.F.A department of Visual Art Faculty of Fine and Applied Art, Chulalongkorn University. He got his masters degree Faculty of Painting, graduate college Slipakorn University.

JOBS

  • Kittiwat Unarrom worked in his family's bakery in Thailand. While in the bakery, Kittiwat soon became famous due to his creations of his morbid bread-dough sculptures.

INFLUENCE

  • Kittiwats artwork was inspired by Buddhist precepts and the similarity between the smell of stale bread and rotting corpses.

STYLE OF WORK

  • The reason Kittiwat became so famous is because of his unfamiliar picking of things to sculpt out of. In this case, bread dough. And how he would sculpt morbid and gruesome human body parts with the bread dough. You could buy this bread like you usually would for regular bread. He puts them out to be bought by his costumers and to be eaten! No blood or real body parts included, of course.

Important note!
Kittiwat did NOT name his pieces. Nor did the pictures contain the year that sculptures were made. Therefore, when the pictures are shown, at the bottom it will say (no name). Thank you!

My thoughts on the artist.
Personally, I am in love with his artwork. As a fan of the more paranoid and gore-ish side of things, his artwork defiantly interests me. I find it amazing how he is an,d to make it so realistic looking, only with bread dough. I am defiantly a new fan of Kittiwat and I will be looking forward to more of his recent works. Defiantly an artist that I would recommend for people to check out!
