Kiwi's are blind they only have two legs and they are all sorts of colors.

There are about 70.000 kiwi left in New Zealand and 2% of them die every year.

Female kiwis are larger than males
[ up to 3.3 kg and 45 cm.

The kiwi's noise sounds like a vibration in its throat and it squeaks.

Chicks hatch fully feathered and after a long incubation of 70-85 days, emerge from the nest to feed at five years old.

The biggest threat to kiwi chicks are stoats and to adult kiwis is dogs.

The bird itself is a taonga [treasure] to Maori, who have strong cultural and historic association with kiwi.

Kiwi's live in New Zealand they get transported to safe islands so they do not get eaten by stoats and some of them like Kapiti island and Mana island.
