• The Ku Klux Klan was an organization formed in the United States in 1866

• The klan was created by six confederate civil war veterans

• The name Ku klux klan originated from the Greek word kulos meaning circle then in translation Ku klux klan means circle of brothers

• The 6 veterans thought of the name in a small village out side Tennessee one man name Richer R.Reed suggested the word kulos then civil war veteran captain John B.Kennedy suggested the word clan the 6 veterans then decided on Ku klux klan

• The clan used the robes and mask to remain anonymous and to strike fear into the African American people they tourmented

• It is said they burn crosses to signify that they are Christian and to show there faith in God

• The clan idolizes as morally pure and racial homogeneous
• And many years before Scottish clans set fire to a cross on a hill side they did this to scare rivals or to rally troops
• And the original clan leader of 1866
