Egan is very kind, easily annoyed, and at the same time a little hasty.
He has a cousin named Ada also
Egan is also very generous , (he bought gift for his relatives with his own money at the annual fair.) He likes dogs and hates one cat in particular: Ada's cat, Sweetheart. Egan desires popularity as he proves himself in the story.

Ada is Egan's cousin. She makes fun of him and hates dogs, Annabelle in particular.

Uncle Ott is brave and likes to explore. He dose get lost a lot though. He also has a pet dog named Annabelle.

Aunt Gertrude is a talkative person. She hates the monster and loves to knit mar-no-mores, a carpet like object sold at the fair.

Annabelle is a "ripe" aged dog.
She belongs to Ott. Ott ''took" her on adventures.

Sweetheart is a cat. He is very sensitive, and climbs the Rise to kill Knee Knock Birds.

Uncle Anson is a clock maker. He makes them for the fair. He gets mad at Ott for leaving Annabelle so much.

Egan's adventure begins in a very famous village named Instep, a very large, oversea civilization known for it's annual fair and the mysterious creature: the Megrimum. There is a giant mountains behind this great village and is the suspected home of the Megrimum: an unknown species that moans on stormy nights. This monster is the main reason instep is such a big tourist spot. Instep has a temperate climate and is very grassy. Around the mountain is a very large forest rich with resources that create the mystery of the Megrimum.

A young boy named Egan is going to a famous village (Instep) to visit his aunt and uncle. Strange rumors of a monster there have spread for years and Egan thrives to discover the mystery of the monster.

The Monster, or as the people of Instep call it, Megrimum is haunting everyone's dreams down in Instep and even though its the main reason people come down to Instep, it has become a problem and Egan predicts he would be famous for slaying it.

A young boy named Egan is going to a village name Instep to visit his relatives, a rumor has spread through instep for years and Egan is drawn toward the mystery. During the annual fair Egan is taunted by his cousin Ada and climbs the rise to find 2 things: the answer to the mystery; there is no monster just a spring and a cave, and his missing Uncle Ott. He closes the whole in the spring. Although no one believes Egan, that there is no monster, he knows what really what happened. Then, he returns to his home. He hopes to come back one day.
