HABITAT

  • Eucalyptus Forests
  • Eucalyptus Forests can be either wet or dry, and usually have some under brush on the ground. The tall eucalyptus trees dominate the forest.
  • Some abiotic factors that Koalas need to survive are oxygen, water, and light

  • A koalas role in their environment is to eat the eucalyptus leaves

POPULATIONS

  • Koalas like to live by themselves in their own territory
  • Some limiting factors they have are limited food supply, and limited water supply

ENERGY

  • Koalas are a consumer(herbivore)
  • Their primary food source is eucalyptus leaves
  • They are a primary consumer

BIOLOGICAL INTERACTIONS

  • Predation: Koala eat eucalyptus leaves
  • Competition: Koalas compete for territory
  • Symbiosis: There is commensalism between the Koala and the Eucalyptus trees

ADAPTIONS

  • They have claws which help them climb and grip the eucalyptus trees
  • Wooly coat that protects them from the extreme hot and cold conditions and it's water resistant
