KOROWAI TRIBE

RELIGION

• Believe in an all creator called Ginol silamtena
• Will orginize a sago grub festival in order to celebrate prosperity and fertility
• Will sacrifice pigs in times of trouble and believe in reincarnation

ECONOMY

• The korowai are a hunter gather tribe
• They have generated some money by allowing some people to go through the area as tourist and use the money to buy things they can't make/find like stone tools

FAMILY LIFE/MARRIAGE

• Families are patriarchal (along with most of the society)
• Marriages can be polygamous
• Men and women live seperate
• Houses usually have around 8 people in them

CANNIBALISM

• If someone is accused of being a khakhua (a name for a demon) he/she is tried, and if they're found guilty they are tortured, executed, and eaten.
• This is not practiced anymore by the tribes that have had more interaction with modern society
