Herschel Grynszpan

On November 7th 1938 the Kristallnacht occurred because of a student named Herschel Grynszpan. He was a Polish and Jewish student; he shot a diplomat named Ernst Vom Rath. Vom Rath was part of the Hitler OrganizaHerschel was 17 years old and was out for revenge. The Nazis had taken his parents away and he wanted revenge. He had bought a revolver and after asking to see someone high up in the German organization shot Ernst Vom Rath. Herschel had wrote a letter to his parents in his pocket stating that he loved them and that he wants God to forgive him. He died two days later. Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels were angered and ordered the Nazis to stage and attack on the Jewish people in Europe. A German minister by the name Joseph Goebbels organized the attack a crossed the Europe. They had been looking for an excuse to attack the Jewish people and this was the excuse they needed.
