LANGUAGE

  • The Kurdish people, or Kurds (Kurdish: کورد, Kurd), are an ethnic group in Western Asia, mostly inhabiting a region known as Kurdistan
  • inhabiting a region known as Kurdistan, which includes adjacent parts of Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey

CUSTOMS

  • Kurdish Culture (Kurdish:کولتووری كوردی (Kulturi Kurdi) or çand û toreya kurdî) is a group of distinctive cultural traits practiced by Kurdish people. The Kurdish culture is a legacy from ancient peoples who shaped modern Kurds and their society.
  • Some aspects of Kurdish culture are close to that of other Iranian peoples; for example all of them celebrate Newroz as the new year day, which is celebrated on March 21.

RELIGIOUS BELIEFS

  • Most Kurds are Muslim
  • The reason is because they are close to other Muslim countries

  • Low class- unskilled wokers
  • Middle class- educated employes
  • Upper class- really educated bossiness men

URBAN OR RURAL SETTING

  • They have both urban and rural, urban is dominant
  • Urban- homes, businesses, and factories
  • Rural- they are only used for farm land.

  • The husband is the leader of the family
  • Family include Mom, Dad, Children
  • They may also include grandparent or cousins

Treatment of Ethnic Groups

  • The Kurds can sometimes be abused from people
  • Under law they are considered equal
  • They are mainly abused from the Turkish people
