L Frank Baum was born on May 15, 1865.
His full name was Lyman Frank Baum
He was a children's author, playwright, and journalist.
He was homeschooled and spent hours reading in his father's library.
In 1869 he entered the Peeksill military school but was removed because he wasn't fit out for it.
He started his own newspaper called the lawn home journal.
Baum wrote the play the maid of Arran in 1882 and acted in it.
In 1882 he married maud gage and had four children.
In 1900 the wonderful wizard of oz was published.
