LA FERIA DE ABRIL

WHAT?

• There is bullfighting which takes place at the Plaza Toros de Maestranza
• Rides and attractions are also part of the fair

WHO?

• Locals will go to the fair
• Many visitors and tourists will also go
• Flamenco dancers will go to celebrate
• Also bullriders will go to the fair and ride
• Bosque Ybarra and Catalonian Bonaplata started the fair

WHEN?

• The fair usually starts two weeks after holy week
• It begins on a Monday and midnight and ends on a Sunday at midnight
• The first fair was in 1847
• This year the dates were April 29-May 4

WHERE?

• The fair is held on the grounds of Real de la Fería
• It is right outside the city center
• Also it is across from the Maria Luisa park
• It is in Andalusian which is the capital of Seville, Spain

WHY?

• This was originally a livestock fair
• In one year it turned from a festivity to a fair
• This happened because tiwn hall and the Casino of Seville was built
• It was the 1920's when the fair became very popular
